Rocker Panel Install (August 7, 2004)

Here are some pictures of the right outer rocker panel welded in. I pieced in and butt welded the rear piece behind the rear quarter panel and plug welded along the seams on the top and the bottom. Installing the rocker wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. With a little work, I was able to make it line up on the top and bottom. All I have left is to gring down the welds and coat the panel in primer.
Status photos as of 8/07/2004:
Here are some pictures of the rear butt welds tacked and some sheet metal screws holding the rocker in place.
Here are some closeups of the butt weld tacks.
Here is the rocker panel about 90% welded in. I have to go over the welds and grind them down smooth. I then may have to repar some of them. Here are the shots of the top and bottom.
Here are a few shots of the rear butt welds done and ground smooth.
Here is a shot showing the alignment with the door. The alignment is very good and should work well with a good door. This original door had some previous bad repairs done to it and will be replaced with a better one.
